NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AND REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS for the SECOND ROUND of CDBG-CV PROGRAM FUNDING
NEW CASTLE, PA
Notice is hereby given by that the City of New Castle will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 5:45 P.M. via ZOOM https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89028418007 . This meeting is accessible to persons with disabilities and/or persons with limited English proficiency. The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Cares Grant program in general, the needs of the community that can be met with CDBG Cares Act funding.
New Castle will make an application for approximately $305,870.00 for CDBG Cares Act funds from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the funding dedicated to Housing activities. The application submission deadline to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is November 12, 2021.
The following types of activities may be eligible for funding under the CDBG Cares Act Program: Keeping seniors/disabled/those adults with home and health conditions that could be impacted by COVID-19 avoiding congregate living arrangements. In addition, housing modifications for individuals and families that have health conditions negatively impacted by or susceptible to COVID-19 such as asthma, lead and other environmental conditions.
All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and give written testimony or present written comments concerning the needs of the community, proposed CDBG activities, the prior use of funds, as well as the CDBG program in general. Comments may be submitted by October 27, 2021 to Shawn Anderson, 230 N. Jefferson St. New Castle, PA 16101 or sanderson@newcastlepa.org.
