The City of New Castle is seeking qualified individuals to serve on the Civil Service Board and as an alternate. The Board is appointed by City Council and is responsible for administering the city’s civil service rules and regulations, which ensures that all Police and Fire employees are hired, promoted, and disciplined fairly and equitably in accordance with the law.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong understanding of civil service principles and practices
- Experience in Police or Fire Administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Board meets every February and as required otherwise and each member serves a four-year term.
The position is unpaid, and you must be a City resident.
